Platform capabilities

Enterprise-ready carbon accounting software

CarbonTool pairs the capabilities large organisations need — a REST API and ERP integrations, multi-entity consolidation, audit-grade governance and decarbonisation planning — with transparent, per-organisation pricing. Enterprise depth, without the enterprise sales cycle.

Is CarbonTool enterprise-ready?

Yes. CarbonTool is built on a governed data backbone with a REST API for real-time integration (ERP, IoT and supply-chain systems), SAF-T accounting import for SAP, Oracle NetSuite and Microsoft Dynamics, multi-entity consolidation, a Data Quality Index for audit-grade traceability, and decarbonisation scenario planning — covering CSRD, VSME, GRI, CDP, ISSB and PCAF from one dataset. The difference versus Watershed, Persefoni or Sweep is commercial, not capability: transparent pricing, unlimited users and a free trial instead of a long enterprise procurement.

Capabilities built for scale

Integrations & automation

REST API on Enterprise · SAF-T on Pro

  • REST API (OAuth 2.0) to read and write data, with webhooks for real-time change notifications and bulk import of thousands of data points per request.
  • Connect ERP, IoT sensors and supply-chain systems — e.g. continuous kWh from meters or vendor systems pushing transport data.
  • SAF-T accounting import from SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and QuickBooks, with automatic supplier mapping.
  • AI-assisted extraction reads invoices and documents and suggests the right emission-source mapping.

Multi-entity & global structure

Operational grouping on Core+

  • Manage many entities under one company with a defined consolidation basis (e.g. operational control).
  • Operational grouping by geography, business unit, division, function or any custom dimension — built for multinational structures.
  • Standardised templates and schemas roll consistent methodology across teams and entities for cross-entity comparability.

Audit-grade governance & data quality

Data Quality Index on Core+

  • Every figure is traceable to its source, with an approval workflow (owners and approvers; pending / approved / rejected) before data enters a report.
  • Data Quality Index using a pedigree approach — tier, completeness, consistency, recency and uncertainty — flags which sources are external-reporting grade.
  • Attach supporting documents and comments to each entry; full history of who submitted what and when; version control on every report.

Scope 3 & supplier data

  • Structured GHG Protocol Scope 3 across all 15 categories, with spend-based and supplier-specific methods.
  • Supplier mapping from accounting data, plus surveys (e.g. multi-language commuting survey) and API vendor sync to bring in primary data.
  • Data-quality scoring guides where to upgrade from estimates to primary supplier data over time.

Decarbonisation & target intelligence

  • Initiative templates with estimated budget and yearly savings, mapped to the emission categories they reduce.
  • Reduction targets and scenarios aligned to SBTi and CRREM pathways, with progress tracking.
  • Pathfinder AI guides setup and suggests next actions from your own data.

Multi-framework reporting

Reports on Starter+

  • Map data once to GRI, SASB, CSRD/ESRS, TCFD and CDP — enter it once, reuse it across every framework with no duplicate entry.
  • Multi-language reports for global audiences; export to PDF, Excel, CSV and JSON.
  • 200+ expert emission-source templates built on the GHG Protocol.

Yes. CarbonTool provides a REST API (OAuth 2.0) on the Enterprise plan that can read and write sources, data points and emission factors, send webhooks for real-time data changes, and bulk-import thousands of data points in a single request. It is used for real-time IoT, supply-chain and ERP integration.

Yes. Beyond the REST API, CarbonTool imports SAF-T accounting files (XML v1.3+) from SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and QuickBooks, automatically mapping suppliers and transactions to emission sources. Accounting systems can also feed automatic utility mappings via the API.

Yes. A company can hold many entities with a defined consolidation basis (such as operational control), and operational grouping lets you organise facilities by geography, business unit, division or function — suited to multinational corporate structures.

Every figure is traceable to its source and passes through an approval workflow before entering a report. A Data Quality Index scores each source on a pedigree basis (tier, completeness, consistency, recency, uncertainty), supporting documents can be attached to entries, and reports carry version control — the traceability external assurance requires.

Yes. The Enterprise plan adds the REST API and real-time integrations on top of multi-entity consolidation, operational grouping, audit-grade governance, decarbonisation scenarios and multi-language reporting — enterprise capabilities delivered with transparent pricing and unlimited users rather than a long procurement cycle.

Reports can be generated for global audiences in multiple languages, and data-collection surveys (such as the employee commuting survey) are multi-language, which helps decentralised teams across regions contribute data.
